Empowering Teachers through the Discovery of Africa’s Diversity: A Short-Term Seminar in Ghana for American Educators
Eligibility and Criteria for Selection of Participants:
A participant must be (1) a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, (2) a school teacher or college/university faculty, (3) a graduate student of undergraduate junior or senior who intends to teach in the future in modern foreign languages or area studies.
Applicants need to submit: (1) fully completed application, (2) participant’s fee of $1,300.00 towards the project made payable to AIRHD., (3) one or two typed page(s) letter describing reasons for applying including qualifications for participation in the program, (4) a resume, (5) two professional letters of recommendation, and (6) unofficial transcripts of undergraduate and graduate work.
Selected participants must attend a 3-day Pre-Departure Orientation scheduled on June 15 – 17, 2017 at AIRHD office 1726 Montreal Circle, Suite 201 Tucker, GA 30084
Deadline to submit all application materials is February 28, 2017 and final selection notification will be on March 23, 2017.
Tentative date for travel to Ghana is June 23, 2017.
