SAT/ACT Prep

The American Institute for Resource and Human Development (AIRHD), Inc. in collaboration with Kaplan will offer a yearly four-week SAT/ACT Preparation Camp for 100 ninth to twelfth (9th – 12th) grade high school students. This program is funded by the grants received from foundations, community agencies and corporations. The American Institute for Resource and Human Development’s “Every Help Counts” (EHC) Program will work in concert with local school systems and communities to achieve the following goals:

  • Improving academic Performance in Math, Science, Language and Reading;
  • Preparing students for college; and
  • Increasing computer and technology access and training for youth in local communities.

 In addition, the program will provide intense four-week classes focusing on improving Math and Science skills to low achieving and disadvantaged high school students in DeKalb, Rockdale, and Newton counties. The Curriculum, services, and activities of the EHC program are designed to motivate participants to succeed in their secondary schools as well as generate an increase in their academic level and prepare them for post secondary education. The EHC Program is a comprehensive initiative that collaborates with local schools and communities to help students cross the threshold of academic success.

This program will be provided to ALL STUDENTS in the target counties and surrounding areas at no cost. Certified teachers in our program will give small group lectures as well as one-on-one teaching assistance in the above-mentioned academic areas. This intensive and action-packed program is designed to help students achieve the following grade-level focuses:

  • 9th Grade – Learn how to prepare for EOCTs (End- of-course Tests), which all high school students have to take. (These tests count for 15% or your child’s grade!)
  • 10th Grade – Learn how to prepare for the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test) in the fall and start to consider post- high school plans.
  • 11th Grade – Learn how to prepare for ACT/SAT and Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT)
  • 12th Grade – Prepare and give students another opportunity to take the ACT/SAT again, if necessary.
